Alistar Overeem

Overview

Alistair Overeem is a London-born, Dutch Heavyweight fighter who has finally moved to the UFC after dominating a number of other organizations’ heavyweight divisions around the world. The former Pride, K-1, and Dream Heavyweight Champion also has the dubious distinction of retiring Brock Lesnar from MMA –which will make both hated and loved in the MMA world.

Having been a martial arts practitioner for most of his life, he started fighting professionally at the age of 19, and the now 31 year-old Overeem has compiled a long list of both victories and defeats, but has seemed to find his groove in recent years and hasn’t lost a fight since 2007!

Overeem now trains with Team Xtreme Couture after having spent the previous 12 years with Team Golden Glory where he learned from the likes of Bas Rutten and others.

  • Date of Birth – May 17, 1980 (Age 31) in Hounslow, London, England (has lived in Netherlands since Age 6)
